Do realtors really lie when they say there is another offer on the table?

Monday, January 30th, 2012

In the past couple of years, we put in several offers on different rental properties (due to relocation). Why does it seem that after the property of our interest has been sitting for 2+ months, some mystery application comes in around the same time as ours?

If there are realtors out here lying and telling people there are other applications on properties to try to force people to up their offer for the property they want, that is just wrong. There should be an ethical standard/guideline that states realtors can’t lie and make up imaginary offers to try to trick people. It’s put you in a bad situation. If you try to call their bluff, you could miss out on a place if there really was an offer. If you panic and up your offer, then you risk paying more than you could have gotten away with.

What are your experiences with this?

My realtor lied about tax implications and a relocation rebate on our short sale. What to do?

Thursday, January 26th, 2012

My husband and I just came through a short sale and we are now finding out our realtor lied to us on more than one occasion. My husband asked numerous times if we would have to pay taxes on the difference between the sale amount and what is left on the loan. On more than one occasion she told us "no", that our PMI would take care of this. We have now found out through our CPA this is false and that the company submits a 1099 to the IRS. She also lied and told us she submitted paperwork for the HAFA program which rebates 00 for relocation costs as an incentive for pre-forclosures. We have found this was a lie as HAFA is not even exist for FHA loans, which is want ours was. To make matters worse, she claimed she was the only realtor in the area who specialized in short sales and assured us she knew everything there is to know. We are now facing thousands of dollars in taxes and are short the 00 she said we would be getting from HAFA. This is very fraudulent and unlawful business. What do we do?

Did I miss out on a relocation credit?

Tuesday, January 24th, 2012

I moved via relocation package with my employer in 2004. Their realtor tried to sell the house for a few months.. then the relocation company ‘bought’ the house from me at a fair market price. My friend said I should’ve gotten a 00 credit or something for this.. but I never collected anything like that. Any idears?? Did I miss something here? And better yet, can I still claim this? Thanks!

How long does it take for a property to appear online?

Can I list home with realtor AFTER balloon payment was due?

Wednesday, September 14th, 2011

If we can’t pay balloon payment, CAN we list home with realtor? IF no extension or new contract is given to us OR will title/deed go back in banks name. Don’t they have to go through foreclosure process? (which should give us time to sell through realtor, correct?)

Can I get different realtor for same property (one realtor already show me this house)?

Tuesday, September 13th, 2011

Moving 2 states away. How can I look for private rental property owners instead of realtor agencies?

Monday, September 12th, 2011

I have found that going through realtors or property management companies can be a hassle. We do not have the best credit either due to circumstances, but we do have an excellent rental history. I have searched the internet, but I only find property managers. How can I locate private owners looking to rent their homes?

Also, I understand the issues with having not so good credit. There are reasons people have difficulties, so please do not judge me. Thank you!
